| A two-sport athlete at Irmo High School, Matt McKenzie played on 5 Class AAAA State Championship teams and received the J.C. Fowler Memorial Award for the Most Outstanding Senior Athlete in 1996. An AAU All-American basketball layer, he played on Irmo's basketball team which won one State Championship. Matt also played on Irmo's varsity tennis team for 6 years, winning 4 State Championships, and was named to the All-State Team. As a junior, he was ranked in the top 5 in S.C. & won the Mark Hodgin Sportsmanship Award. At Erskine College, Matt played both basetball and tennis, during which time Erskine's tennis team advanced to the NCAA tournament. He was named Most Valuable Player his senior year. |
