Cardinal Racquet Club and the Anderson YMCA have formed a partnership.  This will, hopefully, entitle Cardinal members to some YMCA benefits in the future, (discussions are continuing), as well as add new members to CRC from the YMCA.

For now, we are excited to announce that we will be raffling a free YMCA membership for one year to an active Cardinal Racquet Club member.  This membership is worth in excess of $500 and the winning name will be drawn at the end of the regular Friday tennis social on May 21, 2010 to be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  You do not have to attend the social to purchase tickets and the winner does not have to be present to win.  The tickets for this raffle are 1 for $10 or 3 tickets for $25.00.  No limit has been set on the number of tickets for purchase.  Raffle tickets will be available in the clubhouse or from a Cardinal Racquet Club Board member, (Anna Johnson, Henrietta Walker, JayBird Craft, Cindy Crocker or Lindsey Funchess).  All proceeds will go into the court maintenance account for needed repairs.

We are thinking about adding a morning and/or afternoon "shot of the week" clinic.  During this one-hour clinic, we will cover one shot, in particular, for the entire hour.  Several drills will be used to reinforce that shot, such as drop shot day, lob day, serve, slice, top spin, etc.

This type of clinic is very popular at the beach and I think you will find it fun and useful.  We are offering this clinic either Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. or Friday at 10:30 a.m. for the morning players.  For those of you who work and can only play in the afternoon or weekends, we are also offering this on Mondays at 6:00 p.m.
