A new tournament is coming to the Upstate, and we'd love for you to be part of the inaugural Cardinal Fall Pickleball Tournament!

We've built the schedule to make it easy—and fun—to play!

🏓 Friday is Women's Doubles, with play beginning at 4:30 PM—perfect for players who work during the day.

🏓 Saturday is Men's Doubles, and we'll wrap up the day under the lights.

🏓 Sunday is Mixed Doubles, bringing the weekend to a fun finish with great competition and exciting matchups.

🔆 The evening matches create an exciting atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

Tournament Features

Round robin format with bracket playoffs
Skill divisions: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and Money Ball
Age divisions- Under 50 and Over 50
Six dedicated pickleball courts plus additional courts to keep play moving
Food, prizes, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere

Whether you're coming to compete for a medal, enjoy great matches, or spend Labor Day weekend with the pickleball community, we'd love to have you join us. Come to Cardinal

Cardinal Racquet Club is a member established, family friendly tennis facility focused on developing young players and improving players at all levels, with an emphasis on fun and social engagement. Director of Tennis

Matt McKenzie

Matt played varsity tennis for six years at Irmo High School. At Erskine College, his tennis team advanced to the NCAA tournament. He was named MVP his senior year. Following his graduation from Erskine College, Matt began his tennis teaching career at Cobbs Glen Country Club, where he was the head pro for six years. He has worked with adults and students of all ages and levels and has been here at Cardinal since 2008 as the Assistant Professional before being named Director of Tennis in 2010.

Head Pro

Matthew Caldwell

Matthew has been part of the Cardinal family since he was five years old and grew up playing junior tennis at Cardinal. He is a USTA 4.5 player and a certified USPTA professional. He is dedicated to the advancement of the club in every way. He has worked with adults and juniors in private lessons as well as clinics.

Alison Mays

Alison and her husband Dean are long-time members of Cardinal Racquet Club. She is a 4.5 player, loves tennis, loves pickleball, and enjoys the family atmosphere at Cardinal. Alison has been USPTA certified for over 20 years, and she has recently added her pickleball certification.

Director of Pickleball

Josiah Sizemore

Josiah Sizemore is the Director of Pickleball at Cardinal Racquet Club and competes in 5.0 and Open-level tournaments. A former collegiate baseball player, he brings a competitive background and a passion for helping players improve at every level. Josiah earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Southern Wesleyan University and is pursuing his MBA. Through personalized coaching and a welcoming approach, he is committed to growing the game and building a vibrant pickleball community at Cardinal Racquet Club.
